The privacy of your data is a big deal to us. This policy explains what information we collect through happymathlearningfactory.com (the “Site”), why we collect it, how we handle it, and the rights you have. In short, we collect very little, we never sell your personal information, and we don't run ads or session recording.
When we say “Happy Math Learning Factory,” “we,” “our,” or “us,” we mean Happy Math Learning Factory, a small business based in New Jersey, USA. “You” means anyone who visits the Site or contacts us.
What we collect and why
Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. Here's what that means in practice:
Emails you send us
The Site has no forms or user accounts. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write. We use this only to reply to you and to keep a record of our conversations, such as wholesale or district orders. We won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Website analytics (only with your consent)
If you click “Allow analytics” in our consent banner, we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the Site is used. It records which pages are viewed, the referring website, your browser, operating system, and device type, and your approximate country. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. It identifies a visit with a hash that resets every day, so it cannot follow you across days or across other websites. We look only at totals, such as how many people visited a product page.
If you don't consent, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the analytics script is not loaded at all. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. See our Cookie Notice for details.
Server logs
Like every website, the Site is delivered by a web host. Our host, Vercel Inc., automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you requested. Vercel needs this to deliver pages, keep the Site secure, and prevent abuse. Vercel keeps these logs for a limited time under its own policies. We don't use them to identify visitors.
What we don't collect
- We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting.
- We don't use session replay or record your screen, clicks, or keystrokes.
- We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
- We don't collect payment information on this Site.
Purchases and other websites
When you click “Shop Now,” you go to our online store at shop.happymathlearningfactory.com. The store runs on Shopify. Orders, payments, and shipping details are handled there, under the store's own privacy policy and Shopify's privacy practices. Please review the policy shown in the store before you buy. The same applies to retailers that sell our games and to any other website we link to.
Children's privacy
Our games are made for kids, but this Site is written for parents, caregivers, educators, and retailers. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
When we access or disclose your information
- Service providers. We use a small number of providers to run the business: Vercel (website hosting and analytics), our email provider (to send and receive email), and Shopify (our online store). They may process personal information only to provide their services to us.
- When required by law.We disclose information only when a valid legal process, such as a subpoena or court order, compels us to, or when needed to protect someone's safety in an emergency.
- Business transfers. If Happy Math Learning Factory is ever acquired or merged with another company, we will notify you before any personal information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Your rights with respect to your information
We give the same rights to everyone, wherever you live. Depending on where you live, laws such as the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or the EU and UK GDPR may also guarantee them. They include:
- Right to know and access. Ask what personal information we have about you and get a copy.
- Right to correction. Ask us to fix information that is inaccurate.
- Right to deletion. Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to limits under applicable law.
- Right to portability. Receive your information in a format you can take elsewhere.
- Right to opt out. Opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, and profiling. We don't do any of these. We honor Global Privacy Control signals automatically.
- Right to withdraw consent. Turn analytics off at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will never treat you differently for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email info@happymathlearningfactory.com. We may need to verify your identity, for example by confirming your email address, before we respond. We will respond within 45 days. If an authorized agent is contacting us for you, we will need your signed written permission.
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond to an appeal within 45 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general. In New Jersey, that is the Division of Consumer Affairs. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
How we secure your data
All traffic to the Site is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS). The Site is static and has no database of visitor information. We limit access to our hosting, email, and store accounts to the people who need it, and we protect those accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us. To report a security issue, please email info@happymathlearningfactory.com.
Data retention
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. We keep email correspondence for as long as it is useful for helping you and for our business and tax records, and then we delete it. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form only. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Location of site and data
We operate in the United States. If you visit from outside the United States, any information you give us will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States.
Changes and questions
We may update this policy to reflect new practices or legal requirements. When we make a significant change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, post a notice on the Site.
